New Principal Named for H.G. Blake Elementary School

Eldora Lavdas has been named the new principal at H.G. Blake Elementary School. Lavdas has been at A.I. Root Middle School for the past four years serving as the associate principal. She is replacing Tina Cassidy who was the principal at Blake and recently took the position of Coordinator of Education Primary. Cassidy is responsible for all academic program areas grades K-5.

Lavdas has her Master’s Degree in Education and Licensure in School Leadership from Baldwin-Wallace College. She taught both science and language arts at Claggett Middle School prior to her position at Root. Lavdas is very involved in district-wide initiatives and committees. Lavdas stated, “I am very much looking forward to continuing the outstanding tradition of excellence at Blake Elementary and working with my new Blake family!”

Superintendent Dr. Stepp stated, “Mrs. Lavdas has performed at a very high levy while at Root Middle School, helping Principal Mr. Wise in creating a culture of excellence and community. Throughout her career she has been a very loyal and dedicated employee of the school district.”
