The Department of Instruction oversees the academic standards and benchmarks for all students K-12. Services are offered in the areas of curriculum and standards instruction, gifted services, media, early literacy, instructional technology, state and federal testing, and professional development.

TO SUPPORT THE MEDINA CITY SCHOOLS MISSION, the Department of Instruction will provide an educational program that maximizes student potential, instills enthusiasm for life-long learning, and engages in partnerships with all community members. The department will reach this goal by ensuring

| • | varied assessments are used to inform instruction and programming decisions |
| • | individual needs of diverse learners are addressed with quality instruction |
