Physical Requirements
All athletes must have a physical on file with the school before they can participate in any sport listed above. Physicals are good for one year. For example, if athletes had a physical on August 21, 2008 it is good until August 21, 2009, or if athletes received a physical on January 5, 2008, then it's good until January 5, 2009, etc.  

Seventh and eighth grade students are eligible for sports at A.I Root. Sixth grade students may explore other opportunities outside the school district.

Eligibility
Medina follows the rules of the OHSAA. All beginning 7th graders are eligible. For grades 7/8 to be eligible, a student-athlete must have received passing grades in a minimum of 5 of all subjects in which enrolled the immediately preceding grading period. 

Expectations
As a Medina athlete, one is expected to:

• Present a positive image of yourself, your family, your school and your community at all times.
• Place the welfare of the team before that of yourself.
• Make a total commitment to your sport.
• Read and follow the OHSAA rules.
