FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-11 only At this time, students in grades 9-11 may begin requesting courses for next year using their PAM account. The requesting option on the PAM account will be open from Thursday, February 2nd until Friday, February 10th. The Registration Guide is now available on the student's Blackboard account under the Guidance Organization. Students need to review the offerings within the Registration Guide, discuss with their teachers appropriate courses to take and finally talk with their parents about the classes for next year. Selections should be made through the student PAM account no later than Friday, February 10th. If you need your PAM account password, please see Mrs. Rudolph in the main office. Counselors will be in the Media Center computer lab on Wednesday, February 8th and Thursday, February 9th to help students with their selections. At this time, you are requesting what you would like to take for next year. After February 10th, all students will have an individual meeting with their counselors to review course selections. In April, your teachers will also be reviewing your course selections. FEBRUARY 10TH IS THE FINAL DAY FOR REQUESTING SELECTIONS. |

Attention Parents - Weather Info
Winter is here and we need to be sure that we are ready for the inevitable. As we have done in the past, the district will use our call system to notify all of our parents of school closures. Please be sure to log into the Parent Assist Module (PAM) to check your emergency contact information for accuracy. Would you like faster notification of a school closure than you already receive? We notify the local media, post calamity information on our district website, and post calamity information on Channel 36 prior to you receiving a call. You can also sign up for instant school closing alerts with one of the Cleveland area media sources (channels 3, 5, 8 or 19) through their websites. They will usually send a text message as soon as we notify them of our closure. In case the district can use a two-hour delay instead of a closure, click here for the Two-Hour Weather Delay bell schedule. |

On January 26 and 28, the Medina Debate Team competed at the Akron District Debate Tournament. There are 14 schools in the Akron district of the OHSSL (Ohio High School Speech League), including schools in Summit, Medina, and Wayne counties. Medina sent twelve students, and ten of the twelve qualified to the state championship tournament in March. This represents the highest percentage of qualifiers among all schools in any one event. One Medina student, Veronica Toth, qualified to states last year in one debate event and qualified this year in a different one. Usually, a student will compete for four years in a single event and hope to qualify to states by his or her third or fourth year. Veronica did this in her first year in each event. Additionaly, there was a 4-way tie for district champion in the Public Forum event (two person teams); three of those four were Medina teams. All in all, this was our most successful district tournament and qualifies our team for our 10th straight trip to the state finals. The students who qualified for the state finals were seniors Paige Blankenship, Emily Morgan, Veronica Toth, Max Deka, Tyler Thompson, Brian Haberfield, and Jared Topp; juniors Abbey Meyer and Kate Johnson; and sophomore Andrew Shea.
