All are free for a basic membership. Many can be upgraded for free for k-12 education.
Prezi--a unique (and free) way to make a presentation. Much more diverse than PowerPoint.
Wordle--a visual presentation of words ("Word Clouds"). Hint: to make important words larger, type them three or more times. You can also copy and past blocks of text and it will ciphon out the important words.
Quizlet--create, share or use premade flashcards for a plethora of subjects, including ACT, SAT, history, Spanish and so much more. You can make your own, or use some from others.
Glogster--an online, interactive scrapbook page/poster. You can insert sound, video, images, text and more.
VoiceThread--allows users to post images and share comments. It is an interactive website that students can use to "show and tell" and critique, comment and debate.
XtraNormal--if you can type, you can make movies! Use 1 or 2 characters, camera angles, facial expressions, body language, and more. All you need to do is type, and drag and drop.

iGoogle--create an iGoogle account (using ANY email address) and organize your world! Get your information delivered to you, manage your calendar, see the weather forcast, update your blog and so much more.

United Streaming--find videos for your classes. Embed them in PowerPoint, or use them stand alone. Use clips or whole videos.
Nova--streaming segments and whole shows of all your favorite PBS Nova shows.
TeacherTube--YouTube for teachers. Free, school friendly video clips (often homemade) for teachers to use. You can post your own, too!
Online periogicals...and home delivery
RSS-learn how to bring information to you! Clean out the email inbox, use an "aggregator" to collect your news for you. Free and easy. Here's a basic description. (tip: EBSCO can utilize RSS to bring your research TO YOU!)

Photo Sharing
Free photo sharing sites--post images for your students (or family) to share, review and comment on. Have them submit photos or images to you, or share with the class. All are free. You can also view images posted by others. (You CAN make yours private).
